Not Today/ ARTISTSItalian musician and synthesist born in Bologna, Cortini is best known as a Nine Inch Nails member and keyboardist since 2005. His solo work spans multiple projects—blindoldfreak, SONOIO, and releases under his own name—exploring dark ambient, industrial, and experimental electronic textures primarily through analog and modular synthesizers. Since 2013, he has released steadily on Mute, Important Records, and Hospital Records, with notable collaborations with Merzbow, Lawrence English, and Daniel Avery. His approach combines textural drones, unsettling noise, and carefully sculpted feedback into abstract electronic compositions. Cortini also co-designed the Strega semi-modular synthesizer with Make Noise and has worked on sound installations and fashion house soundtracks.
