Not Today/ ARTISTSBorn in Kyiv, Ukraine, and raised in Chicago from the late 1980s onward, Alinka discovered house music through the city's legendary radio broadcasts and record shops, eventually becoming a Smartbar resident. In 2012, a chance meeting with Shaun J. Wright led to the founding of Twirl Recordings, a label that has become central to her artistic identity and released material from Chicago house stalwarts and emerging voices alike. Alinka produces and DJs across house, electro, and Detroit techno influences, with releases on respected imprints including Rekids, Crosstown Rebels, Permanent Vacation, and K7 Records. She relocated to Berlin in the mid-2010s and has played venues including Panorama Bar and Circoloco. Her sound avoids rigid genre boundaries, rooted in the raw, soulful approach of Chicago and Detroit while drawing on broader European dance music traditions.
