Alix Perez is a drum and bass DJ and producer originally from Charleroi, Belgium, now based in New Zealand. He began DJing at age 14 and producing at 17, releasing early work on Shogun Audio before building a reputation for refined, deeply emotive liquid drum and bass. His 2009 debut album 1984 and 2013 follow-up Chroma Chords established him as a key figure in the genre, and he has collaborated with artists including Spectrasoul, Foreign Beggars, and Eprom. In 2016 he founded 1985 Music, a label and imprint that has become one of the most respected outlets in bass music, releasing experimental drum and bass, dubstep, and halftime from a curated roster of artists.
