Born in Munich to Turkish-immigrant parents, BASHKKA spent a formative decade in New York, where she developed her approach to dance music through exposure to Black and Latinx ballroom and queer nightlife culture. She returned to Munich in 2016/2017 and became a resident at Blitz Club, establishing herself as a DJ and producer working at the intersection of house and techno. Her 2023 debut EP, Maktub on the UMAY label, marked her emergence as a recording artist. Beyond DJing, BASHKKA is active in advancing SWANA and queer representation in electronic music and club spaces, particularly in Munich's underground scene. She also performs regularly at Berghain's Panorama Bar and maintains residencies at Hamam Nights and Club Raum in Amsterdam.
