Colin Benders is a Dutch musician based in Utrecht who works exclusively with modular synthesizers to create live techno. Originally known as Kyteman, he founded The Kyteman Orchestra, a large ensemble that combined rap, jazz, and classical elements, before transitioning entirely to improvised electronic music in the late 2010s. His approach eschews pre-recorded sequences; he generates kick drums, basslines, and grooves in real time using Eurorack modules, crafting each performance as an unrepeatable event. Benders has performed across European clubs, festivals, and concert halls, building a reputation grounded in the immediacy and intensity of his live sets rather than released recordings.
