Not Today/ ARTISTSCanada-born Berlin-based DJ and label owner Darwin has spent over a decade weaving UK bass music traditions into Berlin's mostly techno-focused scene. She moved to London in 2007 and worked at fabric before settling in Berlin in 2010, where she began DJing inspired by Panorama Bar residents. In 2014, Darwin launched REEF, a series of parties devoted to connecting techno with breakbeats, dubstep, and low-end focused UK soundsystem styles. Initially based at the now-closed Griessmuehle, REEF moved to Berghain in 2022, where it regularly takes over multiple floors. Alongside REEF, Darwin runs SPE:C, a label releasing experimental techno, drum and bass, dubstep, and acid from established and emerging artists. Her approach emphasizes community and the spatial possibilities of powerful sound systems.
