Born in London and based in Berlin, Dax J is a DJ and producer working across techno, drum and bass, and experimental sounds. He began his career producing jungle and drum and bass in the early 2000s before transitioning to techno after a formative summer in Ibiza. In 2013, he founded Monnom Black, an influential Berlin-based label that has become a go-to imprint for quality techno. His breakthrough came with the 2015 album Shades of Black, which earned widespread critical acclaim. Known for his raw, high-energy sets, Dax J has performed at Berghain multiple times, including a notable 10-hour marathon session, and remains active on labels like Soma, Deeply Rooted, and EarToGround, which he co-founded.
