Fantastic Man is the long-running alias of Mic Newman, a Melbourne-born DJ and producer now based in Berlin. The project began in 2011 as a tongue-in-cheek edits alias and has evolved into a distinctive body of work spanning spacious, hypnotic house and psychedelic club territory, guided by Balearic and acid influences. Newman has released on labels including Wolf Music, Let's Play House, Love On The Rocks, and Mule Musiq, while co-founding Superconscious Records to platform Australian artists. His expansive DJ selections range from ambient and new-age passages to tribal acid workouts, marked by entrancing rhythms and melodic imagination rather than volume.
