25 SETS LOGGED · SINCE 2021

Born in Brooklyn to Ghanaian parents and raised in the Bronx, Gabrielle Kwarteng grew up surrounded by first-wave Highlife, Afrobeat, and disco before moving to Berlin, where she became a regular at Berghain's Panorama Bar. Now based in Europe, she draws fluidly between 1980s and 1990s New York house, acid, and techno alongside disco, funk, and breakbeat sounds from across the globe, reflecting a deep knowledge of music history. She has held residencies at Refuge Worldwide and The Lot Radio, and appears regularly at major venues and festivals including Dekmantel, Fabric, and Glastonbury. Her sets are defined by careful curation and genre fluidity, moving between intimate underground spaces and large dancefloors with equal command.
