Gerd Janson is a Frankfurt-based DJ and producer who has been central to German house culture since the early 2000s. He co-founded the Running Back label in 2002, establishing it as one of electronic music's most trusted imprints through meticulous curation of house, disco, and techno releases. Janson held a long-standing residency at Frankfurt's Robert Johnson club with Thomas Hammann starting in 2000, and later became a resident at Berlin's Panorama Bar. His DJ sets move fluidly across techno, deep house, and disco, blending overlooked classics with contemporary releases. Beyond the booth, Janson has worked as a music journalist and producer, including remix and production work as part of Tuff City Kids alongside Phillip Lauer.
