Birmingham-based DJ and producer Jayson Wynters emerged from the city's late-1990s garage scene as an MC before transitioning to DJing and production in the 2000s. He debuted on mentor Mr G's Phoenix G label with Unfamiliar Territories in 2016, establishing himself through releases on Don't Be Afraid, Delsin Records, and Pulp. Wynters brings together deep house, Detroit-inflected techno, and broken beat influences shaped by his father's diverse record collection spanning jazz, funk, dub reggae, and soul. His DJ sets move deliberately through multiple tempos and moods, from meditative to intense, and he co-founded Café Artum, a record shop and creative hub in Birmingham. He has played Berghain and Panorama Bar in Berlin, expanding his presence in international electronic music spaces.
