Mark Fell is a multidisciplinary artist based in Rotherham, England, whose work spans experimental electronic music and sound art installation. Since the late 1990s, he has pursued reductive, process-driven compositions that strip dance genres to their bare logic, drawing inspiration from structuralist film and minimalist electronic music. He is best known for SND, a duo with Mat Steel that released on Raster-Noton and Mille Plateaux, though his solo practice and collaborative projects have proven equally prolific. His albums Multistability and UL8 established him as a singular voice in experimental electronic music, exploring the intersection of algorithmic systems, acoustic performance, and choreography. Fell has also founded the National Centre for Mark Fell Studies, an independent label releasing solo electronic work.
