MARRØN is an Amsterdam-based DJ who fuses African percussion and grooves with hypnotic techno rhythms. His artistic name honors the Maroons of Suriname, a people who resisted enslavement and carved autonomy in the forest—values central to his approach. Starting with Afro Deep and influences from Black Coffee and Culoe De Song, MARRØN evolved into a distinctive style rooted in rolling, percussive techno inspired by artists like Ben Klock and Rødhåd. He is co-founder and resident of Eerste Communie, an Amsterdam-based party series that began as an illegal rave in 2017 and has grown into a respected platform focused on community, unannounced lineups, and rolling upbeat techno.
