Maruwa is a classically trained pianist and DJ/producer from Saint Petersburg, Russia, now based in Frankfurt. Since emerging in 2018 through releases on Steel City Dance Discs and Lobster Theremin, she has developed a sound that merges IDM atmospherics and emotional impressionism with breakbeat hardcore and dancefloor-focused house. Her production draws heavily from 90s and early 2000s influences, blending elements of trance, progressive house, and techno. She channels Berlin progressive house and the broader techno scene into her sets, crafting music that bridges nostalgic rave sensibilities with contemporary dancefloor energy.
