Iranian-born DJ Mozhgan is based in San Francisco, where she has been active since the late 2000s. In 2011 she co-founded We Are Monsters with Jason Greer, a party series that became a platform for dark, mysterious dance music spanning techno, cold wave, post-punk, and EBM. Mozhgan's sets are characterized by percussive psychedelia and an affinity for vintage synthesizers, ethnic rhythms, and moody vocals. She has performed at venues including Panorama Bar in Berlin and De School in Amsterdam, and is a regular at festivals like Sunset Campout and No Way Back. Her approach draws equally from her Iranian heritage and West Coast dance music traditions.
