Frankfurt native Andreas Baumecker began DJing in 1991, cutting his teeth at venues like Wild Pitch Club and playing experimental house, techno, and Warp-influenced electro across Heidelberg and Mannheim before relocating to Berlin in 2004. He became a Panorama Bar resident at the newly opened Berghain and remains there more than two decades later, operating as both resident and booker. Since 2010 he has produced with Sam Barker as Barker & Baumecker, releasing records on Ostgut Ton that range between dancefloor-oriented tracks and experimental electronics. His sets traverse house, techno, electro, and broken beats with melodic sensibility and harmonic awareness, prioritizing surprise and funk over stylistic consistency.
