Born in Limoges, France to Ecuadorian parents and raised in Quito, Nicola Cruz is an electronic producer and DJ who integrates Andean and Afro-Latin folkloric sounds with contemporary club music. Beginning as a percussionist in childhood, he developed an approach that fuses traditional South American instruments—siku flute, marimba, charango—with polyrhythmic percussion, dub production, and electronic textures. His breakthrough came with the 2015 album Prender el Alma on ZZK Records, which established his signature sound across releases including Siku (2019) and Self Oscillation (2022). Based in Ecuador, Cruz has performed at international festivals and contributed mixes for fabric in London, building a reputation for hypnotic sets that bridge ancestral ritual and contemporary dance music.
