Paula Tape, born Paula Soto Carmona in Santiago de Chile, is a DJ and producer now based in Milan. She began her musical career as a drummer in indie and electronic bands before transitioning to production and DJing in the 2000s. Her releases on labels including Rhythm Section, Permanent Vacation, and Future Classic blend classic house with Balearic and acid influences, informed by a love of percussive complexity and obscure Italo disco sounds. She founded Tempo Dischi, a label dedicated to reissuing forgotten Italo gems and exploring disco and cosmic sounds. Her Hola Mundo party series, which began in Milan, has expanded to residencies in London and Paris.
