Not Today/ ARTISTSRakans is a Palestinian-German DJ and producer based in Dresden who grew up in Beirut before establishing himself as a key figure in the queer electronic music scene. He founded Rawmantique in 2019, a party and safe space rooted in Dresden that prioritizes queer and non-European artists. As a resident of Berlin's Pornceptual nights, Rakans has performed at venues including Berghain, KitKat, and Boiler Room. His music blends emotional and dramatic touches with leftfield techno sensibilities, often incorporating SWANA sounds and elements from his early experimentation with avant-garde pop. His work explores themes of sexuality, tenderness, and liberation through sound.
