Snad (Shyam Anand) is a Berlin-based producer and DJ originally from the Philadelphia suburbs who spent formative years in Chicago and Texas. Working under both his birth name and the moniker Spandrel, he navigates the intersection of deep house, tech house, and minimal techno with an emphasis on hypnotic grooves and subtly layered compositions. His releases span labels including Smallville, Running Back, Kimochi, and Courtesy of Balance. He is one-third of the collaborative project Mothership alongside Jakob Seidensticker and Boronas, and co-founded We R The Aliens, a Hamburg and Berlin-based label launched in 2019 that platforms house, techno, and electronica across generations.
