Subb-an

Ashique Subhan, known as Subb-an, is a Birmingham-born producer and DJ based in Berlin. He emerged in the mid-2000s as a central figure in Below, the influential Birmingham clubbing institution, where he served as a live performer and resident before transitioning to DJing. His work blends deep house, techno, and minimal elements with groove-driven rhythms and raw production sensibility. Subb-an has released on Crosstown Rebels, One Records, Spectral Sound, and other respected imprints, with his music supported by artists including Ricardo Villalobos, Laurent Garnier, and Peggy Gou. He co-founded One Records with Adam Shelton in 2009 and has played venues including Fabric, Watergate, and Berghain across a career spanning two decades.
