Michel Amato, known as The Hacker, is a French electronic music producer and DJ from Grenoble who emerged in the mid-1990s. He is best known for his pioneering work in electroclash, particularly through collaborations with Miss Kittin on the International Deejay Gigolo label, including the hit tracks "Champagne" (1998) and "Frank Sinatra" (2001). Beyond electroclash, Amato has worked across a broader palette of sounds, including techno, EBM, and electro, with releases on labels such as Dark Entries, Mannequin Records, and Turbo. His live and DJ sets often center on analog hardware such as the Korg MS 20 and Roland TR 808. He has performed at major venues including Berghain and remains active in contemporary electronic music.
