Truncate

Truncate is the project of Los Angeles-based DJ and producer David Flores, launched in early 2011 to focus on deeper and more raw techno. Originally releasing music as Audio Injection from the mid-2000s onwards, Flores became a fixture in Los Angeles's underground warehouse and rave scene before transitioning to production on labels including Monoid, Stimulus, and Droid Recordings. He is a longtime collaborator with Drumcell and resident at the Interface warehouse event series alongside them. Truncate's stripped-down, groove-oriented techno has earned support from underground heavyweights including Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, and DVS1, with releases across labels like CLR, Electric Deluxe, and his own Truncate Recordings. His productions are marked by reduction to essential elements, and he has performed at Berlin's Berghain and major festivals including Movement and Awakenings.
