Thessa Torsing, performing as upsammy, is a Dutch electronic artist and DJ from Amsterdam. She emerged from the Utrecht electronic scene in the late 2010s and gained prominence through her residency at De School in Amsterdam, where her unconventional approach to track selection earned widespread support. Her production across albums including Zoom and Germ in a Population of Buildings draws from electro, IDM, and experimental techno, layered with textures inspired by nature and science fiction. Her DJ sets span multiple tempos and genres while maintaining a particular focus on strange yet functional tracks that bridge dancefloor energy with experimental aesthetics.
