French producer and DJ Sébastien Michel, who records as UVB, grew up in Marseille and started producing electronic music in 2009 before relocating to Berlin in 2012. Early experimentation with industrial and EBM sounds, including work with producer Jean Redondo under the Daxyl alias, informed his move toward techno. He released his debut EP on the Rotterdam label Mord in 2014 and has since played at Berghain and other major techno institutions across Europe, Asia, and South America. His work navigates between soulful melodic elements and harder, grittier textures. UVB founded the label Body Theory and continues releasing and performing internationally.
