JP López, working as Verraco, is a producer and DJ from Medellín who now splits time between Colombia's major cities. He fuses dembow and other Latin American rhythms with UK soundsystem bass culture, IDM sound design, and techno production. His 2020 album Grial marked an early landmark, but his recent singles Escándaloo for Voam and Breathe... Godspeed for Timedance cemented his status as a major voice in contemporary club music. Verraco co-runs TraTraTrax, an influential label founded in 2020 that amplifies Latin American artists and challenges Eurocentric narratives in electronic music. He has also signed with XL Recordings.
