Brazilian-born and based in New York since 2011, Volvox is a dominant figure in Brooklyn's techno underground and a regular at Berghain. She began her career in 2006 and cut her teeth in Boston's goth-industrial scene before founding the influential JACK DEPT. party at Bossa Nova Civic Club and the UNTER residency, both crucial platforms for New York's queer techno community. Known for tough, stripped-back sets that blend industrial techno with acid and electro, she released her debut single 'Becoming' on Vatican Shadow's Berghain 09 compilation in 2019. As a member of Discwoman, she has been instrumental in advancing representation and visibility for women and queer artists in the global techno industry.
