Wata Igarashi is a Japanese DJ and producer based in Tokyo who works as a sound designer by day. His diverse musical background—rooted in punk, free improvisation jazz, and avant-garde experimentation—informs his distinctive approach to psychedelic techno. Since emerging in the mid-2010s, he has released on Berlin's Midgar label and New York's The Bunker, becoming known for crystalline sound design and euphoric yet driving peak-time sets. He has performed at Berghain multiple times and released his acclaimed debut album Agartha in 2023, which incorporated kosmische and krautrock influences alongside his core techno palette.
