Fernando Zapico, known as Z@P, is a producer and DJ from Montevideo, Uruguay who has been active in electronic music since the early 2000s. He emerged from Montevideo's underground techno scene and has been a lifelong resident at Phonotheque, a landmark nightclub central to the city's club culture. After building an international presence with releases on labels like Traffic, Melliflow, and Cabaret Recordings, he moved to Berlin in 2018 and is now based in Barcelona. Z@P's sound blends house, techno, and breaks, characterized by stripped-back production and sci-fi elements. He continues as a resident at Phonotheque and Cartulis Music, the latter a European institution supporting electronic music.
